About

Edwin Hidayat Abdullah had been appointed as Vice President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) since November 2019, President Commissioner of PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (Icon+) since 2018 and Commissioner of PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya since 2019. Until then, Mr. Abdullah had served as Deputy of Energy, Logistics, Regions and Tourism at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Republic of Indonesia since July 2015 until November 2019 and Commissioner of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Persero) Tbk since 2018 until November 2019. He had also served as Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) from 2016 to 2018, Vice President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) in 2016, Commissioner of PT Telkomsel Tbk from 2015 to 2017, Independent Commissioner of PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk since 2003 to 2015 and as member of the Independent Audit Committee and Risk Monitoring Committee of PT Bank Sinarmas Tbk since June 2007, Business Development Director of PT Global Perkasa Investindo since 2010, Member of Audit Committee PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk since 2011 and Commisioner of PT Gas Resources Indonesia. Previously, Mr. Abdullah had served as advisor to the Board of Directors of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (2007-2008), Member Advisory Team to PT Timah Tbk (2007-2009), etc. He was Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff of IBRA (Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency/BPPN) in 2002-2003, Food Air Monitor of United Nations World Food Programme from 1999 to 2000 and worked as Analyst at PT Bank IBJ Indonesia from 1996 to 1998.

Mr. Abdullah graduated with Economics degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, in 1995 with a 1-year stint at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Mr. Abdullah obtained his Master of Public Management from Lee Kuan Yew School of Government, NUS Singapore in corporation with Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA, in 2005. He was an IDEAS Fellow at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Sloan School of Management, in Cambridge, USA, 2008-2009.

Mr. Abdullah is a silat practitioner. He’s been training silat for more than 20 years and has reached master (Pendekar) level.

Mr. Abdullah believes that this traditional Indonesia martial art has embodied pure and rich local and spiritual wisdom and philosophy that can be applied not only in sport but also in wider fields of life such as in business, negotiation skill, leadership and family life at home.

 This is one the reasons of writing a book titled “Keajaiban Silat”, a book about silat’s virtues that are applicable in today’s world. In addition, he has also written a number of articles about integrating silat wisdoms into variety economic and political issues.
